Discover two of Germany’s most beautiful natural areas on a special series of hikes filled with nature, music, and stories: “Wunderland am Oderrand” invites you to enjoy cheerful yet contemplative hikes through the Unteres Odertal National Park (
) and the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve.

Together with the wandering bard and local historian Thomas Röhlinger (a certified nature and landscape guide), you’ll explore both well-known and “hidden” gems of these two protected regions. Look forward to easy walks at a leisurely pace—accompanied by songs and fascinating stories about nature and the past.

  • March 29. Spring Magic and History in the Oder Valley: Stolpe
    A real highlight right at the start of the hiking series: The magnificent view over the Oder Valley invites you to take it all in. The legendary, imposing defensive tower brings the history of the Mark to life. Along the way, we’ll encounter an important noble and explorer family from the region. The Oder sings its song as the beauty of spring unfolds on the riverbanks and in the floodplains. Off to the Shire!

  • April 26: A Stroll Through an Enchanted Realm: Lenné-Park Görlsdorf
    Welcome to a springtime paradise! Beneath towering trees, we encounter the world-famous landscape architect Lenné and the great figures of his time. We stroll along the banks of the Welse, listen to songs and birdsong, and lose track of time. And the flowers and trees whisper secrets to us as well, for Walpurgis Night and the May Dance are approaching—a time of ancient customs…

  • May 31. UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site: Buchenwald Grumsin
    The famous Grumsin: A jewel of our region awaits us.
    Its majestic beech trees stand in fresh green—a sublime sight to which we will devote our time and attention. We’ll encounter traces of forgotten peoples and hardworking artisans. And perhaps at some point, the “Grumsin Song” will ring out as well…?

  • June 28: Hiking in the Oderstrand Region: Stützkow and Criewen

  • July 26. Greiffenberg: Summer Retreat and Local History
    A day of wonder and dreams: We’ll climb the Burgruine Greiffenberg and hear about a once-powerful northern dynasty. In a tranquil garden paradise, we’ll meet the guardians of our endangered flora. On hidden moorland trails, we’ll learn how Master Beaver shapes the world—both in the past and today.
    And if we still have some free time, let’s let our gaze wander over the vast, quiet Uckermark—at the foot of the beautiful mill.
