Wild Nature, Quiet Power –
Qigong and Meditation at Wolletzsee

Mindful Hiking in the Uckermark

Angermünde—a state-recognized resort town in Brandenburg—lies just under 80 kilometers northeast of Berlin. Anyone looking for true peace and quiet will find it here. The region is particularly impressive around Lake Wolletzsee, which lies in the heart of the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve.

Here, Qigong instructor Isolde Schwarz invites you to take a meditative break in nature: During the approximately four-hour mindfulness hike “Qigong and Meditation at Wolletzsee,” movement, nature, and stillness come together to create a profound experience of slowing down and self-care.

Hiking with All Your Senses

The hike along the shores of Lake Wolletzsee leads through enchanted forests, marshy valleys, and quiet coves. Participants get to experience the plants, sounds, and scents in a deeply immersive way—the perfect outing in Brandenburg for people who want to consciously experience nature and find inner peace.

Three Qigong and meditation exercises, each lasting about 20 minutes—such as “The Crane Spreads Its Wings” or simply placing your hands on your abdomen—help calm the nervous system, deepen your breathing, and activate your body’s self-healing powers.

Slowing Down at Wolletzsee: Silence as Self-Care

A key element of this hike is deliberate silence. “The whirlwind of thoughts comes to a halt when we reduce external stimuli and fully immerse ourselves in the moment,” explains Isolde Schwarz.

She guides the group with care and a wealth of experience—as a social educator and teacher of qigong, taiji, and mindful self-compassion, she knows what really matters.

If you’re looking for a sustainable way to combat stress, you’ll find a gentle, effective approach here. And if you take regular trips into the wild nature of the Uckermark, you’ll discover that relaxation is right at your doorstep—and begins within yourself.

Nature-based experiences for body and mind

This special hike is a hidden gem for sustainable tourism in the Uckermark—ideal for health-conscious people looking for a break from everyday life.

No prior experience is necessary. Sturdy shoes, a water bottle, and a seat pad are recommended.

The power of nature, the tranquility of the lake, and the meditative exercises continue to have a lasting effect—as a memory that strengthens, centers, and sustains.

Here's what participants have to say:

Gundula Lütgert: “It was a new experience for me to be out and about in a group and yet still be completely present with myself, focused on my own perceptions. No interaction—instead, slowness, observation, silence. Out in nature, on a route I know well—and yet, in this way, I experienced many things for the first time and in a very special way.”

Ines Kuth: “Practicing qigong outdoors by the lake opens my eyes to the beauty of nature and my heart to a sense of connection with it and all living beings. Afterward, I feel refreshed and invigorated.”

Georg Wasmer: “Hearing the leaves rustle in the wind, feeling the sun on my face, the ground beneath my feet, and the sky above me brought me back into balance and reawakened my zest for life and my strength. Practicing qigong outdoors with Isolde Schwarz was a wonderful experience.”
