The fountain complex on the market square consists of five individual sculptures. The sculptures, which come to life through the water and the people in the square, are accessible and can be experienced from all sides. For those who take the time to engage with them, they tell stories—with plenty of humor—about life in a small town like Angermünde. The Market Fountain and the “Closed Open Gate” in the Kaisergarten were created by Angermünde-based artist Christian Uhlig, who lives and works with his wife near the Franciscan monastery below the city wall.
Other works by the artist Christian Uhlig can be found, among other places, in the Kaisergarten and at the Franciscan Monastery.
