UckerOper
The Uckeroper focuses on …
In the new series “Uckeroper Focuses on …,” grand operas are presented in condensed versions at unique venues that are not suitable for a large orchestra. The action on stage focuses on the central characters, while the musical arrangement is deliberately tailored for a small ensemble.
A unique theatrical experience that fosters a sense of connection and opens up new perspectives.

In terms of content, the Uckeroper sees itself as an artistic barometer of its time—opera for our time.

This year’s UckerOper production of “Faust”
—an opera based on the work of Charles Gounod and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
The romantic music of Charles Gounod and the poignant dialogues of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe shed light on a timeless theme: the contradiction between accumulated knowledge and the inability to make responsible decisions.
A novel work of art combining literary and vocal elements that brings classical themes into the present day.
