"The Stone Age of Modernity" — International Hardstone Gallery on the Shores of Lake Münde

The “Stone Age of Modernism” is also part of the KunstGänge open-air gallery in Angermünde. In Angermünde, a region rich in stone, Uckermark fieldstone was used not only as a building material for roads, walls, and stately buildings. Uckermark boulders—huge granite blocks from the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago—served as the medium for international artists at the Angermünde Hard Stone Symposia to express their creativity. The result is a series of impressive, sometimes enormous sculptures, such as the “Rider with Horse” or “Lost Time.” Exciting art walks in Angermünde lead through the old town and along Lake Mündesee.
