Spring Magic in Angermünde

Angermünde, a hidden gem with its restored historic old town, surrounded by the Unteres Odertal National Park and the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve, invites visitors starting in the spring offers a wide variety of interesting experiences.

The season opener in Angermünde. On Easter Sunday, the NABU Blumberger Mühle Nature Experience Center, Antenne Brandenburg, and the Tourismusverein Angermünde e.V. will join forces under the slogan “Uhr auf Natur.”
Our mission is to experience nature today and preserve it for tomorrow! Together with all three partners, we’re organizing an eventful day centered on nature this spring.

NABU is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion, 125 eggs will be hidden. The egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. in the maze at Blumberger Mühle. In addition, the first 125 visitors will receive a ticket for a surprise raffle featuring 125 prizes. The grand prizes include a gift certificate for the Kranich-Insel at the Flair-Hotel Weiss, another gift certificate for a day-long horseback ride with Liesje Trecking, as well as two tickets to the UckerOper’s production of “Carmen” on July 21, 2024, in Angermünde, and other locally produced surprises.

Our younger guests, in particular, can look forward to a visit from the rbb Sandmännchen, who will take them on a safari to explore the colorful nature experience landscape with its flora and fauna.
Visitors can also look forward to a wide variety of hands-on activities, such as the LandArt workshop, egg dyeing with natural materials, making a hoopoe puzzle, and more.

Its excellent connections to Berlin and Szczecin make the Angermünde region a local recreation area offering a diverse mix of “city, cultural landscape, and wilderness.”
On Easter Sunday, visitors can take the BiberBus (Line 462) from the Angermünde train station to the NABU Nature Discovery Center at Blumberger Mühle every two hours at 9:38 a.m., 11:38 a.m., or 1:38 p.m.
The BiberBus runs several times a day until October 31, 2024, to the most beautiful destinations around Angermünde and as far as Wolletz.

Hiking is particularly idyllic starting from the Görlsdorf BiberBus stop, as this is where landscape architect Peter Joseph Lenné designed Lenné-Park Görlsdorf in the 19th century. In designing the garden, he drew inspiration from the existing landscape—with its forest and river—which was intended to serve as a “walk-through landscape painting.” In the summer, the park comes alive with music! Following a guided tour of the park on June 29 and July 27, 2024, cantor Maria Schella invites you to a concert featuring music by Friedrich Wilhelm von Reedern.
