The founders, Jochen and Christof Beutgen—co-owners of Gut Kerkow—aim to bring international art out of the elitist glamour of big-city galleries and into the rustic former hayloft of the farm, making it accessible to everyone in a relaxed setting. Here, the city meets the village, and international art encounters down-to-earth rural culture—without boundaries, without reservations, and with free admission. The few large-format panels float in the high-ceilinged space beneath the rustic wooden beam structure, without overwhelming the room or distracting from the architecture.
