The Tourismusverein Angermünde e.V. (TVA) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continuously improving user-friendliness for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

This Digital Accessibility Statement applies to the website of the Tourismusverein Angermünde e.V. published at www.angermuende-tourismus.de.

As a public body within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, we strive to make our website accessible in accordance with the provisions of the Brandenburg Act on Equal Treatment of Persons with Disabilities (BbgBGG) and the Brandenburg Ordinance on Accessible Information Technology (BbgBITV) for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

According to Section 2 of the BbgBITV, websites and apps are presumed to be accessible if they meet the requirements of the harmonized European Standard (EN) 301 549 (current version). EN 301 549 refers to the requirements of the international standard Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Version 2.1 (WCAG 2.1), with conformance levels A and AA. These requirements form the core of the verifiable success criteria.  

Efforts to Promote Accessibility

The Tourismusverein Angermünde e.V. is taking the following measures to ensure accessibility:

• Accessibility is a cross-cutting issue at both the strategic and operational levels and an important part of our work.
• A contact person for accessibility has been designated.
• Images with text superimposed on them are also given a hover/text overlay to improve readability and contrast.
• The website is optimized for the most common browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Google Chrome) so that users can take advantage of the browsers’ accessibility features (e.g., zoom, text-to-speech, translation, color schemes, and font size).
• More and more browsers offer built-in read-aloud features that read the page aloud. In Microsoft Edge, you can have the content read aloud using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+Shift+U.

Status of Compliance with the Requirements

This website is currently not compliant with the harmonized European Standard (EN) 301 549 (current version). The non-compliances are listed below.    

Content and features that are not accessible

For the most part, the technical accessibility standards of the frameworks used were applied when creating the website; specifically, for WPAstra and Elementor, the versions of the WCAG Guidelines that were current at the time were followed. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party documents and data.

Despite our best efforts, users may encounter problems, or not all features may be fully accessible.  

Additional requirements:

Documents—and PDF documents in particular—are generally made available in an accessible format. We continuously check PDF documents on the website for accessibility using the PDF Accessibility Checker. The evaluation to date has shown that some PDF documents are not PDF/UA-compliant. Exceptions to this may include documents and PDF files provided to us by third parties that constitute supplementary content.

Some of the problems identified include:

• No meaningful document titles have been assigned in the document properties
• Images do not have alternative text
• No scope has been defined for column headings
• No tags or metadata have been entered
