Located in the heart of the village of Pinnow, between Angermünde, Schwedt, and the Unteres Odertal National Park, is the Eisschmiede Uckermark—a destination that combines artisanal ice cream, hearty cuisine, and culture all in one place.

In the former blacksmith’s shop,villagers, cyclists, and visitors from Berlin come together to enjoy ice cream, a tarte flambée, or a summer evening with a concert and a movie on the green field.

The Eisschmiede has been known far beyond the region for years and has established itself as a lively gathering place for young and old alike. Its historic location in the heart of the village combines rural tranquility and coziness with an open, welcoming atmosphere.

Since 2025, the Eisschmiede has been operated by the nonprofit SozDia Foundation. As a café, cultural hub, and gathering place, it brings together people from the village, the region, and the city—with a commitment to actively promoting regional identity, sustainability, and vibrant diversity.

This is especially true in the Uckermark: The Eisschmiede isn’t just a seasonal business—it’s open almost year-round. This makes it a popular destination for enjoyment and fellowship even during the colder months.

Homemade ice cream and hearty cuisine

When it comes to food, Eisschmiede stands for artisanal quality and a deliberately diverse menu. In addition to homemade ice cream, the menu features savory dishes, specialty coffees and teas, homemade lemonades, and select wines.

The focus is on seasonal cuisine and regional partnerships. The menu ranges from quiches and tarte flambée to sausages, sweet potato fries, and baked potatoes, as well as soups.

The dessert menu includes classic scoops of ice cream and sundaes, as well as café affogato—a scoop of vanilla ice cream in hot espresso—and cakes and tarts. The menu also features vegan ice cream flavors, vegetarian and vegan dishes, and gluten-free options.

Enjoying the Fire

Every Friday, the Eisschmiede invites you to enjoy “Delights by the Fire.” In the summer, the day winds down with barbecue evenings or social gatherings around the fire pit.

During the fall and winter months, the open fire in the newly built fireplace creates a special sense of coziness, making the Eisschmiede an atmospheric destination even during the cold season.

Culture in the Open Countryside

In addition to its dining offerings, the Eisschmiede is a vibrant cultural hub. Concerts, open-air movies, and community events like the weekly game afternoon on Thursdays make it a gathering place for people of all ages—and an integral part of village life.

Perfect for a day trip

Thanks to its good transportation links, the Eisschmiede is also an ideal destination for a day trip: Pinnow has a train station with direct service to Berlin.

Many guests combine their visit with a stroll through historic Angermünde or a detour to the Unteres Odertal National Park.
