"Nature and the Distillery" Tour
Grumsin Beech Forest World Natural Heritage Site and The World of Whiskey
The two-and-a-half-hour forest tour through the Grumsin begins at the “Altkünkendorf, Mitte” WelterbeBus stop and ends at the distillery. A certified nature guide will accompany you on this route through past millennia and centuries all the way to the present. The focus of this adventure tour is the European beech and its mysterious inhabitants:
Beech tooth fungus, hedgehog dust fungus, crane, black stork, marsh blood-eye …
After the adventure hike, refuel with a hearty snack at the distillery.
After exploring the Buchenwald Grumsin World Natural Heritage Site, you’ll gain a fascinating insight into the production of cumin whiskey. Discover how much care and craftsmanship go into producing high-quality distillates. The grand finale is a tasting of our delicious specialties, which tastefully rounds out this special experience.
