"MUSTEREI" Cabinet Exhibition

MUSTEREI – Discover Patterns, Tell Stories

With the “MUSTEREI” cabinet exhibition, the Angermünde Museum will present an extraordinary project blending art, everyday culture, and collaborative creativity, beginning on June 4, 2026.

The exhibition was created in collaboration with the Angermünde Jugendtöpferei as part of the MUSTEREI project and invites visitors on a special journey of discovery through the world of patterns.

Erika Mustermann’s Secret Living Room

The exhibition centers on the installation “Erika Mustermann’s Secret Living Room.” At first glance, the room seems familiar and ordinary. But upon closer inspection, it reveals a surprising variety of surfaces, ornaments, and patterns.

Nothing in this living room goes unnoticed. The room tells a story of memories, heritage, habits, and cultural influences, all of which are reflected in everyday objects.

Creative process involving many participants

The exhibition is based on a creative process that spanned several months. In Angermünde, patterned objects from various cultures and walks of life were collected, digitized, and combined to create new surfaces.

In workshops at the Jugendtöpferei, various groups were able to experiment with printing and craft techniques and transfer their own designs onto textiles, paper, and ceramics.
A project by Glashaus Uckermark e. V., funded by the Fonds Soziokultur.

Art, Everyday Life, and Cultural Diversity

The exhibition combines artistic practice with questions of identity, the aesthetics of everyday life, and cultural diversity. It shows how familiar objects can tell new stories and how patterns connect people, places, and memories.

In this way, everyday objects offer a multifaceted perspective on what shapes people, accompanies them, and connects them to one another.

Opening on June 4

The “MUSTEREI” cabinet exhibition will open on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 6 p.m., alongside the special exhibition “Anna von Buch: Images of a Region” at the Angermünde Museum.
