Angermünde Museum

Built in 1694, Haus Uckermark has been extensively restored and renovated. Guests are led through the foyer—which features an old chest from which old stories emerge via multimedia—to the tourist information center. A glass wall, behind which the garden with fruit trees and cozy seating areas lies in wait, greets guests.

Visitors can reach the upper floor, where the Angermünde Museum is located, via stairs or elevator. The museum houses a rich collection on regional history and archaeology, as well as artifacts related to the work of the writer Ehm Welk, who created a literary monument to his hometown of Biesenbrow near Angermünde, which he called “Kummerow.” The exhibition offers a glimpse into this author’s work and, through fascinating images, explores the question of how literature and history are interconnected.
