Current information regarding restrictions in the Unteres Odertal National Park due to African swine fever in the Uckermark district.

The subareas Criewen Polder/Stützkow, Schöneberger Wald/Gellmersdorf, Schwedter Polder A, Polder 10 (Fiddichower Polder), Polder 4, including the adjacent Teerofen forest area, and Fiedrichsthaler Polder 5 and 6 are located within the ASP containment fences. Within these sub-areas lie the towns of Schöneberg, Stützkow, Alt Galow, and Neu Galow in the city of Schwedt/Oder, as well as the towns of Stolpe/Oder, Linde, Gellmersdorf (partially), and Crussow (partially) in the city of Angermünde.

Affected hiking trails and waterways where access is prohibited:

• Nature Trails: Queller Nature Trail and Knüppeldamm
• Floodplain Trail
• Weg der Auenblicke
• Wild Forest Trail
• as well as sections of the Märkischer Landweg (Stages 7 and 8 between Crussow and Criewen) and the Jakobsweg (Stages 3 and 4 between Criewen and Crussow). Hikers on the Märkischer Landweg or the Jakobsweg can alternatively take the RB61 or RE3 train lines between Angermünde and Schwedt/Oder or the No. 468 bus from Angermünde to the Criewen, National Park Center stop.
• The guided canoe tours covering 7 km and 11 km through the Unteres Odertal National Park, starting from Schwedt/Oder, cannot take place at this time

Not affected:

• The Oder-Neiße-Radweg, the Crane Bike Tour ( please note the detour between Gartz (Oder) and Mescherin), and the Uckermärkischer Radrundweg are open to regular commuters and tourists.
• The dikes remain open to the public, and the observation tower in Stützkow is also open for visitors.
• Guided canoe tours departing from Gartz (Oder) and Mescherin are still available
• Visit to the Unteres Odertal National Park Visitor Center at the Nationalparkhaus and the Manufaktur BLAUSIEB in the National Park Shop in Criewen
• Visit to the National Park town of Schwedt/Oder, the farming town of Gartz (Oder), and Mescherin
• Visit to the Tobacco Museum and the former tobacco factory in Vierraden

The National Park Administration and the Nature Conservation Agency carry out area monitoring as part of their official duties.

The regulations are effective from July 11, 2026, through July 30, 2027 (tentatively).
